Private Practice Coaching, Consultation & Clinical Supervision

Private Practice Coaching

Are you working in community mental health or a group practice setting and wondering what it would take to start your own private practice?

Maybe you’re carrying high productivity expectations, constant documentation demands, and the pressure of trying to keep up while protecting your own mental health. You may have thought about private practice, but questions like insurance paneling, income stability, business setup, and leaving agency work can feel overwhelming.

I understand those concerns. Before opening Asbury Counseling, I spent nearly 17 years in residential and community mental health as a direct provider, supervisor, and clinical director. In 2023, I transitioned from group practice into my own independent private practice. Now I help other therapists understand the steps involved in building a practice of their own.

Through private practice coaching, I’ll walk you through the process step by step, including updating your CAQH, choosing a business structure, applying for an LLC in Ohio, selecting an EHR, creating office policies and consent forms, applying for insurance panels, developing your website and marketing, managing business income, and preparing to take your first client.

You’ll receive practical guidance, real-world insight, and templates based on what I used to build my own practice from the ground up.

I offer four (4) coaching modules, each building on the last to help you confidently transition from group, residential, or community mental health into your own private practice. Each module consists of a personalized 90-minute coaching session tailored to your specific goals and questions. Because I understand the demands of high caseloads, productivity expectations, and busy schedules, we'll arrange a day and time that works best for you, giving you the flexibility to move forward at your own pace.

Consultation

Even experienced therapists encounter cases that leave them feeling stuck. Whether you're looking for a fresh perspective on case conceptualization, working through treatment challenges, integrating evidence-based interventions, or navigating ethical and clinical decision-making, consultation provides a collaborative space to think through complex cases with confidence. My goal is to help you gain clarity, strengthen your clinical reasoning, and leave each consultation with practical strategies you can apply immediately.

Clinical Supervision

Working toward independent licensure is an important step in your career, and supervision should be more than simply checking off required hours. I strive to create a supportive environment where you can ask questions, think through cases, strengthen your clinical skills, and grow into the kind of therapist you want to become. Together, we'll focus on ethical practice, case conceptualization, evidence-based treatment, and building confidence in your clinical decision-making.
